Arts in the Park - Marianna (05/11)
The annual Arts in the Park will be held on Saturday May 11, from 6-9 p.m. in Marianna. Musical entertainment will be provided by The Eddie L. Smith Band from Memphis.
Gospel Singing (05/11)
There will be a gospel singing at the Cummins Community Center in Colt on Saturday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. The featured performers will include Sharing Faith, Tommy Forrester, Gospel Express & Allene Colvin.
Outdoor Recreation Day (05/18)
There will be an Outdoor Recreation Activities Day on May 18 from 10 a.m. – 2p.m. at the Bear Creek Lake recreation area of Mississippi River State Park/St. Francis National Forrest. Activities include kayaking, fishing, and archery as well as demonstrating/discussing topics such as trapping, fire safety, flint knapping and outdoor cooking. 146th Church Anniversary - Haynes (5/19)
The Union MB Church in Haynes will celebrate its 146th church anniversary on Sunday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Cedrick Coleman of the Spring Grove MB Church.
Appreciation Service (05/19)
Salem MB Church will hold a pastor and wife appreciation service for Rev. Louis W. Ford Jr. and his wife, Jearline Ford, on Sunday May 19 at 3 p.m. The special guests are Rev. Sherman W. Baker and the members of the Historic First Baptist Church.
Healthy Woman Lunch-N-Learn Program (5/23)
Healthy Woman will present a Lunch-N-Learn program about cancer screenings on May 23 at the Forrest City Medical Center In-service classroom from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. To register or get more information, call Janet Benson at 261-0444.
Memorial Service - Stanley Grove (5/26)
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at the Stanley Grove MB Church. The guest speaker will be Rev. Frank Searcy of Chicago, Ill. Everyone is invited to attend.
Cancer Survivor Dinner (Deadline to register 05/17, Dinner on 05/20)
Forrest City Medical Center is sponsoring this year’s Cancer Survivor Dinner which will be held on Thursday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at the EACC Fine Arts Center. All surrounding cancer survivors and a guest are invited to attend. The evening will feature a speaker from the American Cancer Society's "Heroes of Hope." A dinner will be served and door prizes will be awarded to all cancer survivors in attendance. Pre-registration is required by May 17 by calling Janet Benson at 261-0444.
Spay-ghetti Forrest City Humane Society Dinner (5/31)
The Forrest City Area Humane Society will have a spay-ghetti dinner and silent auction to raise money for the organization’s spay/neuter grant program on May 31, at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church. Serving will last from 4:30-8:30 p.m.; dine in or carry out is available. Plates are $7 and include spaghetti, salad, french bread & a brownie. Contact any Humane Society member for more information or tickets.
FCHS Class of 1988 (6/14 & 15 Deadline to register is 5/25)

Sistas & Others, a local organization for mothers who have had a child die, meet the second Tuesday of every month, at 5:30 p.m. in the in-service classroom at Forrest City Medical Center. For more information, contact Carol Baker at 870-261-3136.
People with Arthritis Can Exercise (P.A.C.E.) Classes
P.A.C.E., People with Arthritis Can Exercise, classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in cafeteria at Forrest City Medical Center. P.A.C.E. classes are provided by East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging, and are free to the public.
