Palestine Fall Sports Registration
Now Until 8/12/16
Palestine Fall Sports Registration will be held at Palestine City Hall every weekday through Friday, August 12, from 8:00-4:00. Registration hours will be extended four hours--from 8:00-8:00--on July 29 and August 12 (both Fridays). For Pee Wee Cheerleading for 1st-6th graders, the fee is $35. For Softball, ages 10-16, the fee is $35. Practice for Pee Wee Football for 1st-6th graders starts the first week of August, and that fee is $60. For Soccer for ages 3-16, the fee is $35. Spring Creek Vacation Bible School

AA & Al-Anon Meetings
Alcoholics Anonymous & Al Anon Meetings are held at 568 W. Chestnut in Marianna every Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Driver's License Class
Classes for a Driver's License are held each Thursday at the Lee Co. Courthouse. The written exam is given at 1:00 p.m., while the driving portion is at 9 a.m.
C.R.T.I. Fall Semester
Fall Semester classes begin Tuesday, August 16, for most courses at Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute, in Forrest City, and all new students must first take a Pre-Registration Free Assessment test. Tests are administered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, beginning at 8 am, through this Friday, July 29. Then there be daily Assessment testing each weekday starting Monday, August 1, until the first day of classes, Tuesday, August 16, with special evening Assessment testing offered on Tuesday, August 2, at 5:00 p.m. An appointment is mandatory, along with a photo ID, and can be made by calling CRTI during regular business hours from 8:00 to 4:30. New student registration for most of CRTI’s Full Time programs will begin on Monday, August 1. All new Crowley’s Ridge Tech students are required to attend one of the mandatory Orientation Sessions that will be held on Friday, August 12, and Monday, August 15, at 9:00 a.m., and again at 1:30 p.m. both days. Financial Aid applications must be completed before registering. Last day to register is Tuesday, August 16. Police officers from Forrest City PD will take on officers from Brickeys Prison in a basketball game fundraiser this Saturday, July 30, at 1 p.m., at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, 402 Dillard Street in Forrest City. All proceeds will go to support the JB Sports Youth Football program. Everyone is asked to come out and support this event.
NECA Horse Show

week for its pediatric day clinics.

The Lee County School District is hosting Summer School until Friday, August 5. Classes will be held 7:30-5:00, Monday-Thursday. The district is closed on Fridays.
Mid-Delta Back to School Bash
Mid-Delta Health Systems will hold their 6th Annual Back to School Bash on Friday, August 5, from 10:00-noon, at Mid-Delta Health Clinic, in Clarendon. This is for students in Kindergarten-12th grade.

Chance for a Change will be participating in a Summer Feeding Program. Their three locations are Millbrook's Community Center (breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and lunch at 11:30 a.m.) and JB Sports and Manor House (breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at noon in both locations).
Sistas Support Group

Bamboo Wind Chimes

The Mississippi River State Park will host two Non-Native Bamboo Wind Chime classes: one class will be held on Friday, August 12, at 3:30 p.m., and the second is Saturday, September 3, at 3 p.m. Each class is about 45 minutes long. Track Re-Opening Ceremony
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 13, at 10 a.m. for the reopening of the running track at Central High School in Helena-West Helena. Special guests for the ceremony will be members of the Helena Health Foundation Board of Directors, whose grant made the project possible. It will be held in conjunction with the Helena-West Helena School District’s Annual Back to School Rally.

Three Trees Cowboy Church will hold a fundraiser for third grader Jilin Smith, who recently lost both parents.
